2023 and 2024 Assessment Outcomes

We are extremely proud of the academic outcomes our children achieved in 2023 and 2024. Over the past two years, we have had a whole school focus on improving outcomes in reading, writing and GPS (Grammar, punctuation and spelling). As you can see, the improved quality of teaching and increased ambition and expectations for our pupils, has resulted in outcomes above national and local averages. This represents fantastic progress from the children’s starting points. We are particularly proud that we have achieved these excellent outcomes whilst continuing to be a fully inclusive school which welcomes pupils of all abilities and backgrounds. Our proportion of children with SEND and who speak English as an additional language is well above national and we also have higher than average levels of mobility (pupils leaving and joining our school at points other than in reception and nursery).

Whilst our 2024 mathematics results were in line with national averages, this is now a focus for this academic year as fewer of our children reached the expected standard or the higher standard in this subject than in reading and writing. We are confident that we will be able to build on our success in English and replicate the same high results in mathematics in 2025.

The table below shows our end of key stage results for 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2024. You can find national and local figures by clicking on this link: https://www.compare-school-performance.service.gov.uk/school/101285/hollickwood-primary-school/primary
